Private Wine Tour & Ston Excursion
Have your own private wine tour and meet Ston! Visit the town with the longest stone walls in Europe and the oldest active salt factory in the world today and enjoy top indigenous Pelješac wines.
Ston on the Pelješac peninsula is a small medieval town with rich history. Top Ston's landmarks are its stone walls, the longest in Europe (5.5 km) and the second longest in the world. The tradition of harvesting salt in Ston is 4000 years old. The Saltworks Ston, dating back to the 14th c., is the oldest active salt factory in Europe today, and possibly in the world. It remained faithful to the tradition and way of producing salt which has not changed since ancient times. Did you know that Ston salt ranks second in its purity in the Mediterranean region?
Grapevines have adorned the Pelješac peninsula since old times, being an inseparable part of people's lives. The most important indigenous grape variety is the red grape plavac mali, native Croatian variety. Vineyards, wine roads and winerie-tours give you a strong sense of Pelješac and its tradition, the way of living and sense of love for the soil, grapes and wines.
